Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging with Speciality Arabica for green coffee procurement, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms govern all commercial transactions between Speciality Arabica ("we," "us," or "our") and the purchasing party ("you" or "buyer").
2. Product Quality Standards
All green coffee exported by Speciality Arabica meets the following standards:
- Cupped and graded by certified Q-Graders
- Specialty grade coffee scoring 80+ points on the SCA scale
- Moisture content between 10-12%
- Defect count within SCA specialty standards
- Proper export packaging in GrainPro or equivalent moisture-barrier bags
Pre-shipment samples are available upon request. Final shipment quality is guaranteed to match approved samples within reasonable variation.
3. Pricing and Payment
- Prices are quoted in USD and subject to market fluctuations
- Quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise specified
- Payment terms: 30% deposit upon order confirmation, balance against shipping documents
- Payment methods: Bank transfer (T/T), Letter of Credit (L/C)
- All banking fees outside Ethiopia are the buyer's responsibility
4. Shipping and Delivery
We offer FOB (Free On Board) Djibouti and CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) to major destination ports. Shipping terms follow Incoterms 2020.
- Estimated lead time: 4-8 weeks from order confirmation, depending on season
- Shipping documentation includes: Bill of Lading, Phytosanitary Certificate, Certificate of Origin, Quality Certificate, and Invoice
- Risk of loss transfers according to agreed Incoterms
5. Claims and Disputes
Quality claims must be submitted within 14 days of cargo arrival at destination port, supported by an independent surveyor's report. We commit to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.
Disputes not resolved amicably shall be submitted to arbitration under the rules of the Green Coffee Association of New York (GCA) or the European Coffee Federation (ECF), as mutually agreed.
6. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, government actions, export restrictions, port closures, or civil unrest.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the specific shipment in question. We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages including lost profits or business interruption.
8. Modifications
We reserve the right to update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to active trading partners. Continued business after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
